Our church was founded in 2013 by former members of the old Galilee Missionary Baptist Church that had a desire to stay in their community of Leatherwood to worship and serve the community. Trusting God for strength and guidance we continue to strive to be the church that God has called us to be. We have been blessed to be able to work in Christian fellowship with the Stoney Mountain Primitive Baptist Church to share their facilities. Meanwhile, God has blessed the congregation with 13 achers on Hwy 57 to be the future home of First Galilee Missionary Baptist Church. A church of healing and restoration.
Greetings From Pastor Adams.... Grace and peace to all of our Father’s beloved children. We greet you in the powerful name of Jesus who has paid the ultimate price for our salvation. Who would have ever thought that the year 2020 would challenge us in the ways we have witnessed for the past 6+ months? This has been, by far, one of the most perplexing times in my life, yet it has also been an awesome time for God’s work to be manifested in and through His people.
God has truly shifted the atmosphere in such a way that the entire world has been forced to recognize that life is precious and it can change without notice, never to be the same again. In this season I truly believe God is calling us back into sincere relationship with Him and each other. As we navigate through the dangers of a pandemic and the social unrest that comes as a necessity for overdue change, it is critical that we follow the words of wisdom found in Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. As we put all of our trust in Jehovah Jireh we can rest assured that He will certainly provide for us even in times such as these. The Apostle Paul declares in Philippians 4:19 “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” Beloved know that God has us right where we are supposed to be...In His Will!
Let us all stand on that Word during these uncertain times...We may not know what the future holds but we definitely know who holds the future. As always, I encourage you to make time to help someone who stands in need of a simple blessing. Truly God has blessed us so far this year and we pray that somehow those blessings will flow through us to someone in need.
We encourage you to come visit us for one of our worship services where the Lord Jesus is always the center of our worship. We solicit your prayers as we do the will of the Father and glorify the name that is above every name, Jesus!
God Bless you! Pastor Adams

Pastor Adams came to First Galilee Missionary Baptist Church on assignment as a supply preacher September 2015 and served the congregation until a call was extended in 2016. Pastor Adams was officially installed as pastor of FGMBC on October 9, 2016 and continues to work as servant/leader for the congregation as we seek to hear from God and live for God.
Additionally, John is employed with IBM Corporation as a Project Manager.
Most importantly, Rev. Adams loves the Lord and seeks to do God’s will in every aspect of his life.
Church Covenant: "Having been led, as we believe, by the Spirit of God to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior; and on the profession of our faith, having been baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, we do now in the presence of God, angels and this assembly, most solemnly and joyfully enter into covenant with one another, as one body in Christ.
We engage, therefore, by the aid of the Holy Spirit, to walk together in Christian love; to strive for the advancement of this church in knowledge and holiness; to give it a place in our affections, prayers and services above every organization of human origin; to sustain its worship, ordinances, discipline and doctrine; to contribute cheerfully and regularly, as God has prospered us, toward its expenses, for the support of a faithful and evangelical ministry among us, the relief of the poor and the spread of the Gospel throughout the world. In case of difference of opinion in the church, we will strive to avoid a contentious spirit, and if we cannot unanimously agree, we will cheerfully recognize the right of the majority to govern.
We also engage to maintain family and secret devotion; to study diligently the word of God; to religiously educate our children; to seek the salvation of our kindred and acquaintance; to walk circumspectly in the world; to be kind and just to those in our employ, and faithful in the service we promise others; endeavoring in the purity of heart and good will towards all men to exemplify and commend our holy faith.
We further engage to watch over, to pray for, to exhort and stir up each other unto every good word and work; to guard each other's reputation, not needlessly exposing the infirmities of others; to participate in each other's joys, and with tender sympathy bear one another's burdens and sorrows; to cultivate Christian courtesy; to be slow to give or take offense, but always ready for reconciliation, being mindful of the rules of the Savior in the eighteenth chapter of Matthew, to secure it without delay; and through life, amid evil report, and good report, to seek to live to the glory of God, who hath called us out of darkness into his marvelous light. When we remove from this place, we engage as soon as possible to unite with some other church where we can carry out the spirit of this covenant and the principles of God's word."
